Horizons Enigmatic Waltz

Horizon’s Enigmatic Waltz

After recently moving to the South of France and relocating his studio, Cremers embarked on a new adventure. Grasse, an ancient town rich in history, became the fertile ground for his new works and the exhibition “Horizon’s Enigmatic Waltz.”

The exhibition reflects his journey of discovery. In a new country with a different language, work structure, and studio, Cremers had to adapt and evolve. Cremers had to reinvent himself. This challenge sparked a wave of transformation in his work. His once familiar ceramics gave way to experiments with found materials. Wandering through the picturesque streets of Grasse, he gathered cardboard, styrofoam, old wood and rope – treasures overlooked by others. With a curious eye and a creative spirit, he combined these materials with A-crystal, a water-based resin, giving birth to new forms and ideas.

Amidst this transformation, his passion for science fiction and ancient cultures remained evident. One piece, “The Tower of Babel,” particularly captures this imagination: Two hands ensnared in a web of ropes tell the tale of human ambition and the confusion of tongues from the Bible. This artwork not only reflects his new life in France, where he grapples with a new language, but also evokes memories of the universal human quest for meaning and connection.

Cremers’ works engage the mind and stir the heart, prompting us to ponder the cyclical nature of history. They resonate with feelings of awe and recognition, highlighting the playful repetition of the past in the future. His art invites us to contemplate our own journeys, the new challenges we face, and how we grow and rediscover ourselves along the way.
